CHAMPIONS 27 April 2008
The
1st team captured the WRU National League 4 North title on Saturday
(26th April) with a comprehensive 60 - 10 home victory over
Llandudno. The 2nds crowned a fantastic day for the club when
victory earned them promotion to the WRU National League 6 North.

LETTER FROM DOWN UNDER
We received
an email this week from Glyn Williams:
"As
a native from those parts, some many years ago now having migrated
to Australia some 30 odd years ago - I wish to congratulate
you on currently being top of Division 4 North at this time
albeit against my old club Ruthin - I had the honour in the
sixties of being captain of one of their teams.
Were you
aware that the first competitive game of rugby in Caernarfon
was played between what was known in those days as Caernarfon
Grammar School and Bangor Friars Schools in 1955 and I played
in that team for Caernarfon - the Revereand Gwyndaf Hughes -
now retired and living at Waterloo Port - was the school captain
- he and I, having known each other since we were 9 years old
and both living in Y Glyn still keep in touch by email and the
odd visit.
Following
my tenure at Ruthin, I was part of the group that formed the
Shooton Steelworks rugby club. I finally finished playing at
the age of forty something in New South Wales.
I now live
in Adelaide and rugby is not a football code that is much followed
here.
Just a bit
of trivia and keep up the good work. Cofion gorau."

has been launched to raise money for Bala player Bryan Davies
who was badly hurt after a recent North Wales league match.
Former Bala
team mate Dilwyn Morgan is planning a cycle ride from Land's End
to John O'Groats on August 27.
