Bala
7 CAERNARFON 31
CAERNARFON
took some time to get going at Bala on Saturday but, after a
first half of missed opportunity, they found the ruthlessness
needed to keep them at the top of the Division Four North table.
At half-time
the Cofis were just 7-0 ahead though they should have accumulated
more than double that score.
Caernarfon
showed great attacking intent but their poor execution let them
down time and again.
The visitors’
only try of the first period came from wing Llion Williams who
was set up after a good break by number eight Rhys Evans.Kelvin
Morris converted.
After the
break, Caernarfon were completely dominant and Bala spent very
little time in the visitors’ half.
The Cofis
just needed that second try to help open the floodgates and
it came midway through the half when centre Rhydian Jones drew
the defence infield and supplied Llion Williams for another
touchdown.
Less than
10 minutes later, Caernarfon breached the Bala line once more,
Alan Mark showing great strength to barge over from a few metres
out. Morris
added the extras.
The tries
were coming thick and fast now and Dewi Morris was the next
man to take advantage.
Gwilym
Hendy made a break and off-loaded to the Tractor who took the
ball over the line for Morris to convert.
Caernarfon’s
final try was the best constructed of their five as they strung
the phases together beautifully with the forwards and backs
working in tandem.
Alan Mark
was loitering on the wing and when found made no mistake with
the touchdown.
There was
time right at the end for Bala to score a converted try of their
own through Gareth Williams but the damage had already been
done
